Whenever I travel to a new place, I want to know its story. There are no constraints for me to move between different points in space, but, like everybody else, I am a one way time traveler. Seeing the current page of the story, it’s only in my mind that I can visualize how a particular place looked in the distant past. I do that with a help of books, my imagination and object of material culture dating back to an earlier time. Nowadays, the appearance of small Russian towns changes dramatically. Yet, one can still come across areas – and I focus my interest on them - where older environment remains almost intact, where different historical epochs seem to be overlapping each other.
